Vijay Smash DMK: Bold Campaign Speech in Trichy, Ariyalur, Perambalur
TN Police Struggle to Manage TVK’s First Campaign’s Road show
Tamil Nadu Police faced major challenges in handling TVK’s first campaign event. The crowd surged outside Trichy Airport as Vijay made his entry, creating a chaotic scene. Fans ignored police instructions and surrounded Vijay’s campaign vehicle until he finally reached the campaign venue, Marakkadai.
As a result, Trichy’s main roads were choked with heavy traffic. Many members of the public struggled to reach the airport and other routes because fans crossed police barricades and refused to follow restrictions.

Vijay’s speech in Trichy was originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. However, due to the overwhelming crowd blocking his convoy, his vehicle took hours to reach the venue, causing a significant delay. What should have been a 20-minute journey from Trichy Airport to Marakkadai (a 12 km distance) ended up taking nearly five hours.
Despite the challenges, Marakkadai was packed with TVK supporters, marking a strong show of strength for Vijay’s political debut. The event was seen as a symbolic uplift in Trichy, considered a DMK stronghold under Ministers K.N. Nehru and Anbil Mahesh.

TVK General Secretary N. Anand had earlier requested fans not to bring children and elderly people to the campaign for safety reasons. However, many were still seen in the crowd. He also instructed fans not to follow Vijay’s vehicle in private cars and bikes, but those instructions were ignored as well. These issues, if not addressed, could create further risks in upcoming campaigns.

Vijay’s Trichy Speech
The much-anticipated Vijay Trichy Speech at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) campaign launch on Saturday drew massive crowds, even though technical glitches disrupted most of his address. Speaking from atop his campaign vehicle, Vijay faced microphone and audio issues that made only one or two minutes of his 20-minute speech audible. However, his supporters remained energized, chanting “Vijay, Vijay” as they filled the streets of Tiruchirappalli.

Despite the audio problems, the atmosphere reflected the fan frenzy and political energy around TVK’s maiden rally. For Vijay, the TVK campaign launch in Trichy carried symbolic weight and historical importance.
Historic Choice of Tiruchirappalli for TVK Launch
Vijay opened his address by highlighting the historical relevance of choosing Tiruchirappalli as the launchpad for TVK’s political journey. He reminded the crowd that in 1956, Dravidian icon and DMK founder C.N. Annadurai declared his entry into electoral politics in this very city. Years later, in 1974, M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) held AIADMK’s first state conference here after launching his party.

The actor-turned-politician also drew attention to Tiruchirappalli’s deep cultural legacy. It was home to rationalist leader Periyar E.V. Ramasamy and stood as a symbol of communal harmony.
Comparing politics to the age-old rituals of kings seeking blessings before battle, Vijay said beginning his campaign in Trichy marked an auspicious and decisive moment.
Vijay Targets DMK with Sharp Criticism
Even though much of his speech was inaudible, a few clear points revealed the sharp tone of Vijay’s political messaging. At one moment, he directly asked the crowd, “Will you vote for the DMK?” — a line that drew roaring responses.
He accused the M.K. Stalin-led DMK government of failing to fulfill the promises made before the 2021 Assembly elections. He also criticized the administration over the recent illegal kidney sale racket, calling out what he described as lapses in governance and accountability.

With these pointed remarks, Vijay positioned TVK as a force challenging the ruling party on its credibility and delivery.
Technical Glitch Acknowledged by TVK
Acknowledging the disruption, TVK confirmed that a technical glitch caused the audio problems during the rally. The party assured supporters that the issue has been resolved and future speeches would be audible in full.
Despite the glitch, Vijay’s supporters showed unwavering enthusiasm. Party cadres waved flags and cheered from the moment his campaign bus rolled into Marakkadai, the chosen venue for the rally.
Clad in his signature white shirt, Vijay delivered his speech from a raised platform atop the campaign vehicle, keeping the crowd engaged even when his words were drowned out by faulty sound systems.
Vijay Ariyalur Speech
The much-awaited Vijay Ariyalur Speech during the TVK campaign in Ariyalur drew massive crowds, as the actor-turned-politician strongly criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for failing to deliver key promises such as the Rs 100 LPG subsidy, monthly Rs 1000 assistance to women, reduction in diesel prices, abolition of NEET, waiver of education loans, and steps to bring education under the State list from the concurrent list.
Vijay also addressed a wide range of local issues affecting Tiruchirappalli and nearby regions, accusing successive governments of neglecting people’s concerns.

Emphasizing his party’s unique approach, he assured supporters that TVK would not make false promises in its manifesto but instead focus on practical and achievable solutions. He highlighted that women’s safety, strong law and order, and the creation of a democratic Tamil Nadu free from deprivation, poverty, corruption, and family domination were central to his vision.
Speaking from atop his campaign bus, Vijay made it clear that TVK’s politics would be rooted in conscience and people’s welfare. After completing his address in Trichy, he moved to Ariyalur where thousands awaited him even as night fell, waving TVK flags and cheering as he delivered his speech, signaling the growing momentum behind his political entry.

Vijay Speech in Ariyalur
TVK’s Perambalur campaign was called off due to massive overcrowding near the new bus stand, where thousands of fans gathered beyond control. With safety concerns rising, Vijay decided to head back to Chennai, officially bringing the campaign to an end at midnight.
